The London Universities Belgian Society brings together all Belgian students – and friends of Belgium – across London’s universities and business schools.

Friendship & connection
LUBS promotes the social life of Belgians studying in London, through the organisation of Belgian get-togethers as well as cross-national events.
Culture & learning
We are a student-run, non-profit and non-partisan society that celebrates Belgian culture in an international setting. LUBS organises cultural activities and talks, and networking opportunities with London’s academic, professional, and diplomatic communities.
UK Hub
Membership is open to all London-based students – Belgian and non-Belgian alike – who share an interest in Belgium. Furthermore, LUBS links up with Belgian student associations across the UK to grow your network.

Everyone is welcome in LUBS regardless of language, background, gender, sexual orientation or ability.

“Growth originates from unity and cooperation.”
Yagmur Koyuncu, Founder and First President
The London Universities Belgian Society in London is the largest existing Belgian student social and cultural organization in the U.K.
Founded in 2024 by Fayat Laureate Yagmur Koyuncu, and a group of forward-looking Belgian students, the Society has always embraced membership from any student, regardless of their background, gender, sexual orientation or ability.
Hence, since its inception, LUBS’ mission has been the creation of a welcoming space, where every Belgian can feel at home in a vast metropolis boasting the same population as their entire country. We combine this with cultural and networking experiences, to give everyone an opportunity to achieve ‘maximum impact’.
We work closely together with Belgium’s diplomatic instances.

We’re run… by you!
Most members do not know each other before the academic year starts, only meeting for the first time in London. This makes for a unique melting pot of programmes, ideas and opinions. We do not have hazing rituals or anything like it – and whether you just want to occasionally join for a drink or want to be more closely involved with the organisation of activities: just know that you are always welcome here!
We would like to thank these instances and student associations for their help and wonderful collaborations:
