Christmas Black-Tie Dinner – December 1, 2025

On 1 December, the London Universities Belgian Society (LUBS) hosted its very first Christmas Black-Tie Dinner at the beautiful William Goodenough College in Bloomsbury, an evening of Belgian elegance, friendship, and festive spirit in the heart of London.

We were deeply honoured to welcome H.E. Jeroen Cooreman, Ambassador of Belgium to the United Kingdom, as our guest of honour. Following a reception, the Ambassador delivered an inspiring speech on Belgian-British relations, diplomacy, and the importance of international dialogue, perfectly reflecting the values at the heart of LUBS.

With over 70 attendees, guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and an unforgettable evening of conversation and connection. We were also delighted to welcome a range of distinguished guests, including David Maenhout (Flemish Representative), Motonobu Kasajima (Wallonia Representative), Lionel Orens (Flanders Investment & Trade), Colonel Van Belle (Chief Representative of Belgium’s Armed Forces to the UK), and the Presidents of the Oxford and Cambridge Belgian Societies.

The evening concluded with closing remarks from Dietrich Rosiers, President of LUBS – ending the night on a warm and hopeful note as we head into the holiday season.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this milestone event such a success.
